Kent departed this world unexpectedly on Sunday, July 25th, as a result of a motorbike accident. He will be greatly missed by many.
Kent was born on Sept 3rd, 1959, in San Diego, CA. He moved around a lot as a child as his dad was in the navy, but he always viewed both San Diego, CA and Holstein, Iowa, his grandparents hometown, as home. Kent graduated from the University of South Dakota in May 1984 with a degree in Business and went on to work for Kent Moore Cabinets in College Station, Texas. I met Kent in College Station, Texas in 1988 and we were married on September 14th, 1991. I remember when we were looking to move away from Texas all he said was “as long as there is a major body of water for the boat, choose wherever you want”, so we ended up back in San Diego- he loved San Diego, and Mission Bay in particular, where his Aunt Jean lives, and it was warmer than Maine! We spent many happy weekends down on the bay, boating, kayaking, fishing, watching the Sea World Fireworks etc.
Kent is survived by his children: Jenny (18), Chris (16) and Evan (12), his Dad: Ed and siblings: Lisa, Jennifer, Jeff and Michelle. And I have to count Aunt Jean in this immediate family as she was technically an aunt but was more like a Grandma to our children as both sets of our parents lived so far away.
Kent loved his kids and was so proud of each of them. I am so happy that they all had a wonderful day at California Adventure together, along with Kent’s friend Kelly, just the weekend before he died. The kids have photos and fond memories of that day that will stay with them forever.
There is so much I could say about Kent, his life with the kids, with his boat, with his band, Misty and the Mobys, and of course his friends. But for now I will let the photos start to tell those stories and I will add more to his life story later.
Memorial Donations
For anyone interested in making a charitable donation in Kent’s name in lieu of flowers, we ask you to contribute to Osteosacrcoma research. Kent was very sensitive to all sorts of cancers. His Mom succumbed to Cancer a few years ago and now Evans friend Jake is valiantly battling Osteosarcoma. Kent was devastated when he heard about Jake early this year and I feel confident this would be his number one choice for charitable contributions this year.

I met Kent in Storm Lake, Iowa in the early 80's. What a great guy!!! I recently learned of his tragic accident and I would like to send my deepest sympathy to his family and friends. Kent, rest in peace my friend!!
Posted by: Joan - Glendale, AZ - friend Oct 24, 2010I am very sorry to hear about the motorcycle accident Kent had. Kent was a good friend in high school, and it looks like he had an great life. God's comfort to all of the family.
Posted by: Scott Wiese - Omaha, NE - friend Aug 25, 2010"Stormy" as we called him in High School was a great guy and friend. My foundest memory was sitting on the floor outside the Music Room door listening to Kent play "Stairway to Heaven" on his guitar. I am sure that Stormy has found his peace on the stairway to heaven to be with his Lord.

I'm sure he will be truly missed
Anna and family, THANK YOU for the beautiful obituary. We heard of your loss at our own Bochmann family reunion this past weekend.
Kent was always the Grandma Minnie's "boy". It was a delight to see him when we visited Holstien.
May God comfort you in your loss. He was WAY to young to be taken from us.
Love, Eddie and Gwen Bochmann

Love my dad, loved coming home and seeing him on the couch and saying, "hey pop". Or leaving for the bus to school in the morning while he was just getting to work and saying, "alright see ya pop". I will miss getting random texts from him all the time of him joking around; he liked to text jokes to people at any given moment- whatever was on his mind. I loved working together with him, work will never as much fun as working with my dad, as im learning- work is hard. He loved to teach me things about woodworking and installation. He was so glad that I was interested in his line of work, and he was looking forward to paying me $15 dollars an hour once I had mastered the art of door-staining. He started me off at $7 at the start of the summer, because he said that taxes would leave me with that much anyway. He gave me my second raise the week before he died and I was at $9 dollars an hour. The morning of July 25, he drove to the bank to get my pay for the week. I'm going to keep the last dollar I earned from him for a long time. He was the greatest guy I've ever known and he was my best friend. Every decision I ever make i'll do what he would want me to do. I learned a lot from him, and i wont forget any of it.

I met Kent when he came to our house to help make our dream come true. We had been designing our bathroom with copper bowl sinks and the painted tiles we had brought up from Mexico. But we needed unique cabinets to fit in our small space, so Kent came to the rescue. He built the foundation for us to sculpture our one of a kind double sink bathroom. Needless to say, we think of him everyday.

The Meschoulam family -
Kent has been a part of our lives for several years. He brought his family to El Callejon and then we connected as guitar players. These are pictures from our daughter's going away party and last Halloween at EC. He looked great in an afro!
